Origins and Genetic Makeup
The Pina Colada strain is predominantly a hybrid, with a genetic lineage that combines the sweet fruity notes of Pineapple and the soothing, earthy undertones of Coconut. It typically leans toward the sativa side, which contributes to its uplifting qualities. Its parent strains are:
- Pineapple (also known as Pineapple Express) – A known favorite that combines candy-like sweetness with a invigorating high.
- Coconut – Often wrapped up in various hybrids, this flavor profile adds a creamy richness that complements the fruitiness of Pineapple.
Though not much is known about the breeders behind Pina Colada, the strain has quickly made a name for itself in the cannabis community, often cited for its tropical flavor and relaxing effects.
